Rob Gilde

NWNetwork121Rob Gilde has more than thirty years of experience in engineering and management, successfully bringing numerous innovations to the market, along with 15 patents awarded in the networking and network security space. Gilde was most recently Vice President of Engineering at Tempered Networks, a Seattle startup company where he established the technical team, infrastructure and processes, and created the current hardware lineup.  Prior to joining Tempered Networks, Gilde was Vice President of Platform Engineering at Apptio, where he led a major re-architecting of their IT business management product, and their transition to a cloud-based service.  Previously, Gilde was CTO at QL2 Software, an Internet data mining and business intelligence service. Throughout his career, Gilde has held key positions at several companies in Seattle, including Lockdown Networks, where he created Lockdown Enforcer, the category-defining Network Access Control appliance, and F5 Networks, where he led the architecture and development of BIG-IP, which continues to be the market-leading application delivery controller product.  Prior to F5, Gilde was a Principal Engineer with The Boeing Company, where he helped advance state of the art in avionics and command/control systems. Gilde holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Syracuse University.
